Words For My Wife: Part 2

I’ve been thinking about you, so I decided to write.

It should have been sooner, but I’ve been in my own little world.

Cliché I know, but I’m really out here working on being a better me.

That’s a phrase you’ll hear often and with good reason.

Taking time to myself for myself, working on my spirit, mind and emotions.

It’s uncomfortable and lonely; I’m forced to search the depths of my soul.

Scratching a temporary itch can feel amazing, but its satisfaction is really short-lived.

The mixing of energies and vibes causes a state of cloudiness and dysfunction.

Cleansing myself of vices is a daunting test of character and maturity.

Trust issues run wild; I’ve seen insecurities ruin even the best of relationships.

Grateful for time and perspective, they are held with the highest regard.

How else could we cope with the process of healing old wounds?

For us to really last, though, we must build a friendship first.

It’s not enough for us to love each other, it’s just as important that we like, respect and appreciate each other.

What we want is real–we just said no to situationships.

Focusing on the present and preparing for our future, because the past is the past for a reason.

True wisdom is manifested through life’s experiences, the good and the bad.

I’m not trying to do better, I am doing better and there’s a distinct difference.

When it’s our time to be together, will you meet me half way?
